Day 145: Flat Stanley comes to NYC

My niece Gabi and her class are doing a Flat Stanley project where they send Flat Stanleys all over the world to people they know and those people have to take pictures of Flat Stanley in random places that he's visited.

My sister thought it'd be a good idea to send Flat Stanley to visit me in NYC and (s)he has just arrived!

Let the fun begin!

Day 144: Jayati's Last Dance...

One of our teachers at Dhoonya, Jayati, is leaving and moving to San Diego! Lame!!!

Today was her last class and she had a "Bollynatyum" workshop. I'll miss her energy!

Day 143: well wishes continue...

News of my engagement has now spread to my office...so I was welcomed with a congratulations...:)

Day 142: separated again :(

I almost decided to post a picture of him walking away but it made me too sad...plus he walked pretty fast so it's not a good shot anyway...

Jeff left for Afghanistan again this morning. It's lonely! Crazy how we spent all that time apart and somehow we got through it and then we got to see each other again and it felt like no time had passed and I got so used to walking down the street with my hand in his, and kissing him good night, and getting hugs whenever I wanted...and now, I'm alone again...We're both alone again...:(

I miss his face already, and not needing a phone or Internet to hear his voice...I miss him! And to think, we were just inches away from each other this morning...

He asked me to spend the rest of my life with him and since the moment I said yes, I don't know how I can wait to start forever. I want forever right now...

Day 141: Last full day together...:(

Where does the time go that Jeff's R&R is already done and we have to be separated again! :(

In the morning we will cry, but for the moment, we'll enjoy the time together...

Day 140: I'm marrying a romantic!

Jeff and I had an early morning appointment with the doctor and he was sooo annoyed and sorry that we had to spend so much vacation time at the hospital...

we went to get breakfast after and when we were done and trying not to get soaked in the coming rain, he asked me to close my eyes and when I opened them, there was a red rose in his hands, waiting for me to accept it...




I used to want a life like a movie...until I realized that what I have is so much better. :)

Got Rich & Naomi's save the date cranes in the mail today! Wonder if this is the one crane I did that was rendered usable...lol

Day 138: modern art

Went to the MoMA (museum of modern art) and one of the exhibitions was a pile of candy in the corner that people could take from and eat...??? Really? That's art?? Geebus...

Day 137: Tuesday! How can it be Tuesday!

Gosh time is flying by so quickly! Jeff and I are trying to make the most of it though... We *tried* to go to the MoMA today (fail, forgot they were closed on Tuesdays), walked around a LOT, went to dance class where they announced my engagement (kind of embarrassingly sweet), and then went to eat at the restaurant where we had our first date! We were SOOOO close to pretending to get engaged again just to see if we would get a free meal. lol

Having Jeff around is so awesome, and kind of like this picture:

We're just in our two person happy bubble while everyone else goes about life and looks fairly grumpy most of the time. Oh wells. Too bad so sad for them!!! :P

Day 136: scratch academy!

Day 135: Fitting in with the family...

I can't tell you how awesome it feels to have Daj call him "Uncle Jeff."

This is the man I'm going to spend the rest of my life with and he's amazing with kids!!

Day 134: yahtzee!

Had my first yahtzee!!!

Day 133: I said yes

Two pictures today, because I say so. :)

Jeff and I went on a picnic to central park (he was adamant we go, whether rain or shine and thankfully the weather obliged and we stayed dry and mostly warm) where we set up our blanket at the spot we met over a year ago and had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chocolate milk boxes, chocolate chip cookies and doritos! Best first picnic ever! :)





When we finished eating, jeff gave me a shoulder rub and then he hugged me and told me he loved me and then...





Of course I said yes. :)

Day 132: home again!

Jeff's home!!! Yayyyyyyy!!! And on his birthday! Woooowooo!!!!

I still can't believe a year ago, I barely even knew who he was...and now...he's everything...:)

Day 131: pattern frustration

Was hoping to make Jeff some shorts for his birthday but I ran out of time! :( this is me lamenting how exhausted and overwhelmed I was after finally finishing cutting the pattern at 11pm...Fail! :(

Day 130: to do list

...after I'm done with class, I have SO much to do!!! (have to write my to do list on my hand or else I'll misplace the list!)




Gahhhhhhh

It seems like it's not a lot but the cleaning alone is going to take up a LOT of time! :(

Day 129: sweet old lady

Props to this lady who still rocks the public transportation even when she's in a walker. You know these senior citizens are gangster if they're still living the city life at that age!





Wanted to kick the ass of the girl who gave attitude when the lady asked for her seat. She'll get hers if she makes it to 80!
