Day 248: you get the stink eye...

Took Jeff with me to meet the cousins and Daj woke up to find his mother gone and a strange man in his living room... When he finally stopped crying and came out, he just sat there on Arn's lap and looked like that at Jeff for a solid half hour...



He did eventually warm up to him though. :)

Day 245: Ghillie

Almost every day, on our way home from work, we see this man, cheerfully knocking on windows and asking for money. Brandon has nicknamed him Ghillie because he looks like he's wearing a Ghillie suit that snipers wear. Brandon can't help but give the guy a dollar and a fist bump every chance he gets because he's always sooo cheerful. It's crazy how happy he can be, standing out in the heat all day and waiting for anyone to show some kindness...reminds me that you can choose your disposition no matter the circumstance. I need to remember that!

Day 243: I hate the file room

The worst part about paperpushing happens when someone calls me to ask for a revision JUST after I've already closed it and it's gone on to where files go to die: the file room. So then I gotta go through everything again to find just the one teeny file in stacks of many just to make a revision. Sigh.





Just my luck that the one I needed was the very last one on the bottom. :(

Day 242: Borrowed clothes

Sharon lent me her favorite dress today! Yay!

mostly because she didn't really have time to look through and find something for me to wear to work since I didn't pack for today and got locked in the bathroom! (long story)

I love the belt buckle strap! (this is pretty much the only picture I took today...for shame!!)

Day 241: the week of goodbye parties

My friend Eve is moving to Seattle next week (for loooove....ooOoooOooo) and the Guamies decided to have a going away picnic at riverside park...

Day 240: baby duty

Stayed with the Da Costas this weekend in Jersey and thought I'd give Sharon a break and take care of the baby during the night... Kinji is easy to take care of for the most part, but he doesn't like sleeping alone and he keeps odd hours...I was up at seriously the buttcrack of dawn with him...soooo exhausted!





I don't know how mothers do it day in and day out... I think I'll stay an auntie just for a little while longer...or a lot while longer...:)

One of my coworkers is leaving to move to china next week to be with his girlfriend so we had a going away party for him today.





He thought he was going to a meeting. Too cute that he brought his notebook and everything! He's not used to being the center of attention so it's just so adorable how he turned red when he saw we were all there for him.

Met up with an old family friend who is visiting tonight and hung out by the seaport... Sometimes it still hits me with disbelief that I live in New York City!!

Day 232: fatty mcfattypants

There's an iPhone app I downloaded today called FatBooth where you take a picture and then it alters it so you gain like a hundred pounds. Suffice it to say we had plenty of fun with it at lunch time.





Props to Brandon for:
1) sending his mom a picture of fatty Brandon and making her panic by convincing her his face just suddenly swelled up.
2) taking the picture of the fatty version of our company's president/owner (Rich's dad) and sending it to everyone in our office.
