Day 38: sewing is my indoor snowboarding....

As an overanalytical psych major who has issues falling and staying asleep because her mind races a million miles a minute, there are few activities that grant me a reprieve from the hubbub of my mind... I didn't discover that it was actually possible to stop thinking until I found myself living in the exact moment I was in the day everything clicked and I learned how to slide down a mountain. It was utterly liberating, to find myself only concerned with the matter at hand. So while I was in japan, for a few hours every weekend, I got to shut my brain off and feel like I was floating on air...

I never really found that feeling after I moved away from my mountain town...instead, I was always in some sort of constant chaos...worry, anxiety, deep thoughts... And in the city, there is no snowboarding...

But I discovered that sewing is my indoor snowboarding. When operating the machine, it's all there is. I love it!

Nothing like making something after the end of a long day!!! :)

Day 33: spare tire

NY potholes are ridiculous! Rich busted a tire today and we were forced to stop and change it...well, he changed it and I held his phone like a flashlight and took pictures. :P

Day 32: I am not a fan of public transportation...

...especially in the winter! It makes me very road rage-y without a car... Stupid bus was super crowded and people were not so pleasant! Grrrr public transportation!!!

Day 28: another nyu staple bites the dust...

Gonzales Y Gonzales was one of the very first restaurants I ever ate at in NY when I first moved here...and now it's closing...probably to open a chipotle, which, while delicious, did not need another location in the city...

We tried to get in tonight to have one last huzzah, but it was too cold and the line was too long for us to stay much longer. So a picture is all we got...

Day 26: "...but baby it's gross outside..."

For some strange and unknown reason, I keep singing that song, "baby it's cold outside," (the one Brandon calls the cutest song about being creepy) but replacing "cold" with "gross."

Funnily enough, even a crappy day like today can turn out to look kind of awesome...

Day 25: shelves! Yay!

I got a new lamp (courtesy of Brandon!) and instead of eating or working out, I redid my shelves! :)




Of course...now the rest of my room looks like more of a war zone...hahah...but it has to get worse before it gets better!!! :)

Day 23: the tiger is asleep...

Finally got some time to spend with the fambam for the first time since thanksgiving! Gave the kids their animal hats from my sister and love that Daj has no issue wearing it!





I wish it were a lion hat so I could start singing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight..." nevertheless, the song is still stuck in my head. Lol
