Thursday is finally here!!! Yayyyy!

Woke up to the sound of baby Kinji crying and went to check up on him but Sharon had it covered so I went back to sleep. Before I did though, I took a second to admire the morning upon me...what a beautiful day!!

Day 228: after the rain...

When it's raining, it's sometimes hard to see past the gray... But eventually the sun peeps through the clouds. There's always sunshine after the rain...you know, unless it's nighttime. :)

Day 227: the graduate

I graduated bartending school today! I made 22 drinks in under 6 minutes!

To celebrate, my teacher taught us about layered shots with real alcohol. Baby Guinness shots! Whoooooo!





I'd write more but I'm exhausted! :(

Day 225: feed the hungry and your vocabulary at the same time!

That's what freerice.com does. It's a website that's essentially a never ending vocabulary game where every correct answer donated ten grains of rice to end world hunger. I hadn't played in a couple years and today forgot how awesome yet addictive it could be. So many words I don't know! Insouciance and aliform are not two of them. :)

Day 224: "can't stop me"

...at least that's what I think it says... It could say something else...which is what I had thought it said (I'm so gullible, Brandon said that's what it was so I didn't even question it until he said, "nooo it says 'can't stop me'" and not the other thing. Hahahah)...you never know about New Yorkers! People can be that vulgar!!

Day 223: almost as good as hugs

I've been having a rough week at work, and when I'm really annoyed and/or stressed out, I really need hugs. Unfortunately for me, it's a bit impossible... But flowers help! They got delivered yesterday and totally made my day! Week, actually, since they're still sitting at my desk. :)

Also at my desk... Cookie delivered via Fedex! Yeah!

Work crap is still there but this certainly makes it better! :)

Day 222: my foot doctor is the best

My foot has been giving me a bit of trouble this past couple of weeks and I was a little scared to go and see my doctor for fear of being scolded...and because I was paranoid I had a stress fracture and he'd make me wear the ugly boot.

But I went in and yay! Just a pinched nerve! He stuck a needle in me to loosen that thing up and assured me I should be all better soon. Whoohooooo!

I'll take a needle for five seconds over having to wear the unsexy boot for weeks on end any day!





It's a big needle and I'm not big on needles, but I'm more vain than I am scared of a little prick. That boot really is unsexy!

Day 219: back to school time!

Started my first day today and we learned sooo much! I can now free pour shots, make martinis and pour highballs and stuff. Yay!!

Just three more looooong days and I'll be a full fledged graduate!!!

Completely forgot that I didn't post this last night! Hrmmm I think that as much as I love my family, I'm glad to be going home tonight after dance class. Though I will admit, the view from the ferry after a long day does wonders!

Day 214: baby boy

I wanted a brotherly picture because today is my brother's birthday and I wanted to talk about his awesomeness... But all my pictures are of this little one...





Sleeping in my arms, it's hard not to think of how my mom felt when we were kids...

One day her son was born (exactly 34 years ago, in fact) and she held him in her arms and I'm sure it feels like it was in a blink of an eye that he's now 34 with a wife and two sons of his own... How quickly will time fly for me? Too quickly I presume...

For now, I will just enjoy the quiet moments I have. And the loud ones too.

Happy birthday, brother! To life and all its moments...

Day 213: do you like my mon-keys??

Memories of what seems like another lifetime came to me today. An early morning return to my apartment after a long night of unexpected fun...





I think of two things today:

"Memories are like clouds...forever changing shape but always above us."

and

"When things end, what matters is not that everything's in pieces. It's how you decide to carry them."

Loving that I can look back and smile without wishing I were still there or hurting because I'm not. :)
